It's an undeniable truth that when the mood strikes and the vibe is right, nothing can stand in the way of two (or more!) people being magnetically drawn together. In the heat of the moment, sounds melt away, shapes lose their edges, and light breaks into all-new shades and colors. We call that the za za zoo, babe, and we're big, big fans.

Sometimes, however, you might need a little assistance creating the perfect mood, a little help summoning the za za zoo. That's where bedroom jams come in. Bedroom jams are, as one might assume, and we believe you know, jams that are meant to be played, you guessed it, in the bedroom. Songs that might inspire you to do a little dance, make a little love, and, well, get down tonight.

It's a little hard to pinpoint exactly when the expression "bedroom jam" first entered the public lexicon and even more difficult to determine exactly which song was the first official bedroom jam. It might be safely argued that it all began with Marvin Gaye's "Let's Get It On," but if you go back far enough, people have been using music to set the mood for centuries.

The important thing to remember when building a bedroom jams playlist of your own is that it's authentic to you as a person. Sure, bedroom jams should be, at a base level, sexy songs. But the beautiful thing about sexy is that it's different for everybody. Into pop-punk? Go ahead and Yellowcard your way into the sheets. Movie buff? Put on your favorite OST (Original Soundtrack), and go to town. A little Hans Zimmer would make for an epic make-out sesh, for what it's worth.

The important thing is that your bedroom jams are true to you. We're not saying your road trip playlist and your bedroom playlist need to have crossover, but they should at least feel like different chapters in the same book. You want music that you enjoy, that helps you to be the truest, most uninhibited version of yourself.

As a jumping-off point, here are a few of our current favorite bedroom jams. We think you'll like what you hear!
