Leah returns to her hometown of Pinerock, a peaceful island off the coast of Maine, hoping for a quiet summer of writing and working at the local bookstore. But her plans are upended when she runs into June, the woman her ex-boyfriend cheated on her with. Leah finds herself inexplicably drawn to her, and they strike up a friendship and hatch a plan to make her ex jealous. But instead of revenge, their scheme evolves into a messy web of desire and self-discovery, with Leah and June falling for each other along the way.
